Story
takes
me
back
While
doing
a
search
on
Riding
Mountain
National
Park,
and
my
father
Bud
Armstrong,
I
came
across
the
story:
Law
enforcement:
Not
for
the
meek,
which
appeared
in
the
Spring
2002
edition
of
the
Alberta
Game
Warden,
online
at:
http://www.gamewarden.ab.ca/archive/arc
h_features_spring02.htm.
The
Bud
Armstrong
in
that
article
was
my
father.
It
was
great
to
read
the
story
because
it
brought
back
many
memories
of
living
in
the
park
and
the
people
in
the
story.
My
Dad
went
on
to
be
Chief
Park
Warden
at
Elk
Island
National
Park,
Riding
Mountain,
Waterton
Lakes
and
finally
retiring
out
of
Jasper
National
Park
in
1973.
He
passed
away
in
March,
1979.
Cpl.
Bill
Stewart
retired
from
the
RCMP,
became
the
accountant
for
Riding
and
eventually
retired
to
Victoria,
BC,
where
he
passed
away
in
1978.
The
Stewarts
and
my
family
remained
life
long
friends.
Please
extend
my
thanks
to
Mr.
Fetterly
for
writing
this
great
reminder
of
growing
up
in
Riding.
